MEET GWEN YVETTE
Gwen Yvette is an independent soul artist, singer, and songwriter from St. Helena Island, South Carolina. A Harlem-born, St. Helena Island–raised songstress with extraordinary vocal range and emotional depth, Gwen first picked up a microphone at just three years old, performing at community events and quickly revealing a natural gift for music.
She entered the professional music scene in the early 1990s, performing with a popular local band before earning an invitation to tour with legendary soul musician Roy C. In 2012, Gwen gained national exposure with a successful run on FOX’s hit television series The X Factor, further solidifying her place as a powerhouse vocalist.
In 2015, Gwen officially launched her solo career. Her debut single, “So In Love,” released in February 2016, propelled her into the national spotlight, earning widespread media attention and performance opportunities across the country. That same year, she was honored as Female R&B Artist of the Year at the South Carolina Music Awards. In June 2017, Gwen released her long-awaited album, Love, Dreams & Visions, a project that fully embodies her passion for soul music and storytelling.
Performing regularly throughout the Southeastern United States with her band TC Soul—named in honor of her beloved father—Gwen Yvette has become one of the region’s most sought-after live performers. Her résumé includes opening for and sharing the stage with legendary artists such as King George, Shirley Murdock, Keith Sweat, Regina Belle, Kem, Sir Jeffrey Osborne, Patti LaBelle, The Mighty O’Jays, and Frankie Beverly & Maze.
Internationally, Gwen continues to expand her reach. She recently returned from the UK in October 2025 following her first solo tour. Previously, she toured with the Soul Jones Collective Tour and served as a headliner for the I Am Woman UK 2020 Tour, an International Women’s Day celebration.
Gwen Yvette continues to write, record, and release new music while performing live at corporate and private events, music festivals, and premier venues throughout the Southeast and beyond—delivering soul music that is timeless, heartfelt, and deeply authentic.
